Region 07 · Lạng Sơn Province
A monument to blood and iron.
About the region
It is a literal geographic death trap. Chi Lăng is a deeply narrow, high-walled limestone bottleneck that served as the ultimate natural fortress. This is where Vietnamese forces repeatedly bottlenecked and slaughtered invading northern empires. Today, it’s a quiet valley highway famous for growing custard apples (na), but the sheer vertical drops of the mountains still make the air feel heavy with its brutal tactical history.
